Thank you for visiting our booth at the WI Restaurant Expo 2011 March 29, 2011 – 10:09 am
We would really like to thank everyone that visited our booth at the Wisconsin Restaurant Expo this year in Milwaukee.
This, again, was a success and we owe it all to our customers, new and old. Here are some of products and coffees we showcased and received most feedback on:

- Flamenco Organic Coffees and Espresso- per usual our wide array of micro-roasted Organic, Fair Trade, and Direct Trade coffees were very popular. The Nicaraguan Rio Coco as our “focus light roast” and the Minnesota Mudd Blend as our “dark roast lovers” option were both talked about a bunch, but the Papua New Guinea as an “intriging medium roast,” the Ethiopian Dara as the “coffee fans perfect light roast,” and the Kona coffee (especially out of the Bunn Trifecta) were holding their own as well. The creamy, decadent Matador Espresso Blend was also being pulled from the Casadio 2-group Espresso Machine and tasting just as sweet and smooth as ever!

- International Paper Hold & Go “Flamenco” Design, Insulated Hot Cups- these cups are the ultimate hot cup in the industry. It was hard not to spot a Flamenco hot cup in someone’s hand when walking the show. With so many people trying our coffees and espressos you wouldn’t have to look far to see the beautiful dancer silhouette. Even many of the presenters and speakers at the show could be seen sipping from our snazzy cups during their presentations! These cups are part of the “Sustainable Forestry Initiative” which promotes sustainable forest management and is something we feel is very important. Not only are they double-walled which means no sleeve is needed, but the lids are universal meaning the same lid fits the 12oz, 16oz, and 20oz cups!

- CoffeeVac Coffee Containers - these vacuum-sealed containers are all black, open and close with the squeeze of a button, and keep coffee fresher, longer. We love using these containers for our coffees and especially our espresso because we really understand the importance of freshness! If you care about keeping you specialty coffees fresh, then these containers are for you. Available in 1/2 lb, 1 lb, and 5 lb sizes.

Here are a couple new arrivals that are definitely worth a try!
Bolivia Copacabana Reserva
Full City Roast
An eclectic aromatic array of cotton candy, cinnamon toast, and clove. Chewy mouthfeel with a piquant, sparkling acidity. Whispers of peanut butter, cookie dough, sweet cream, and bran with a lengthy, malty finale.
Mountain H2O Processed Decaf Peru Chasqui
Full City Roast
Creamy, smooth, and mild-mannered. Peanut brittle, orange juice, and a splash of spiciness in the nose. Lingering finish like a big piece of chocolate cake.
Roaster’s Recommendation – Mid-March 2011 March 16, 2011 – 10:27 am
We are now on “Coffee Trip” March 4, 2011 – 10:55 am
We came across a very cool website the other day, www.CoffeeTrip.com. It is really great because you can search for independent cafes and roasteries all over the US. You can even search for cafes by what coffee they serve! We obviously had to add our roastery to the site right away.
Here is the link to our page on their site. Please check it out as there is a bunch of awesome links to a ton of Specialty Coffee sites and resources.
Roaster’s Recommendation – March 2011 March 2, 2011 – 1:06 pm
We will be starting a new monthly blog post dedicated to the coffee or coffees that the roasters of Flamenco Organic Coffee Company would like to recommend for that month. They will only be recommending coffees that intrigue or excite them.
For the month of March the roasters recommend:
Timor Maubesse
Full City Roast
Exquisite, overlapping aromas of chestnut, potpourri, and peppermint. Thick, juicy, and exceptionally sweet. Banana chip and sugar cookie notes. Finishes with the sweetness of raw sugar and the spiciness of cayenne pepper.
